Super cold. Super windy. Royce was congested, and little Anson was coughing. But everyone braved it out and with the help of some peanut m&ms, we all made it through! This is one gorgeous (and growing) family that Aaron & I have gotten to know over the past few years, and we are so fortunate to be doing life together with them. Lauren, along with our friend Lindsay, is the mastermind behind all the cute headbands that Anna Lynn wears. Royce is in construction (which Aaron grew up doing). They have 3 kids and are now expecting their 4th in April!

My phone rang, and I jumped out of my chair to answer it. It was Christmas morning, and I was eating breakfast with my in-laws. But I didn’t care – I had been waiting for this call for several weeks now.

“Aaaaaaannnnnnndddddddd???????” I asked impatiently, expecting either a yes or a no.

“Hi!”

Are you freaking kidding me?!?!?! You’re gonna make small-talk NOW?!?!?!?!

“Hi! Merry Christmas!”

“Merry Christmas! How’s it going in New Mexico?”

“Goooooooood. *pause* How’s it going over there?”

“Well … it’s positive!”

We had known when they were going to start trying, and Melissa wanted to take the pregnancy test right before Christmas so that she could surprise Brad on Christmas morning. And she told me she would call me on Christmas Day with the results, whether positive or negative.

Well, this morning, they went in for their first sonogram.

I don’t know who this kid is, but man!!!!!!!!

Up until this point, all Melissa had was a positive pregnancy test and nausea. But now, it’s real!

Hearing the heartbeat for the very first time.

Congrats, you guys! September 1st can’t get here soon enough!
